Fundraisers at JCA It has been the tradition and practice of Jacksonville
Christian Academy for decades to have 2 fundraisers per year.
These efforts have been either to raise money for a special project, or to defray the
costs of operations as a private Christian school.
We now have a simplified version of the fundraising system that allows those who participate to apply the proceeds from the fall and spring fundraisers directly to your school tuition bill. Thus, those families who choose to not participate in the fundraisers have the fundraiser fee added to their bill. Most parents tell us that even if they choose to add the fundraiser fee to their bill, JCA is still half the cost of any Christian school in Central Arkansas. We now sell the many different quality items made by Camp Hope Candles for our fundraisers twice each year. Each student must sell just 12 candles to make our fundraiser a success. Yet, we do continue to offer, for the enjoyment and reward of our hardworking students, the great prizes that JCA has become known for in our fundraisers. The products we now sell are a great choice because: 1. Instead of JCA making 50% of the proceeds and a
"for-profit" company making the other 50%, we now purchase our products from
Camp Hope which uses their half of the funds to assist underprivileged
youth in our community. JCA still benefits as we would with any
fundraiser, but in addition, we are helping another good Christian
ministry which is giving children much needed hope. 2. Instead of ordering from a catalog and delivering
items later, now we have our items with us at the time of sale. 3. Camp Hope Candles are Hand-Poured, Premium candles at a lower price than ANY other premium candle on the market. 4. Camp Hope Candles is a Ministry of Bible Baptist Church just like JCA is, and is operated by a JCA graduate and former staff member Chris Files. This makes it easier for us to get special fragrances we want, trade candles for ones that are selling better, and "have a say" in what we sell in our own fundraisers. 5. JCA is able to sell the candles for $15 each, while the candles actually sell for $20 regularly, and at other schools. This is a great privilege that comes mainly from the fact that we sell a large volume of items each fundraiser.
