About UsHistoryJCA was founded as a ministry of Bible Baptist Church in 1978 with less than 100 students. Almost 30 years later, JCA is still going strong with over 300 students attending in grades K2 through 12th. ObjectivesDeuteronomy 6:5-7 reads, "And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children. . ." Proverbs 22:6 says, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Attendance at this academy is a privilege and not a right. The goals of this academy are not to reform, but to train Christian youth of any ability in the highest principles of Christian leadership, self-discipline, individual responsibility, personal integrity, and good citizenship. The school stands without apology for the old-time Gospel and the highest standards for morality and Christian behavior. AccreditationAccreditation of a private Christian school is not necessary for a graduate of the school to enroll in a college or university. Registrars of such institutions are interested in academic merits of individual students, not in the name of their school of graduation. Thus, they evaluate each applicant's academic aptitude through nationally standardized tests. This school does not need accreditation by any outside educational institution but does endeavor to provide the highest possible academic program. We are, however, a member of the American Association of Christian Schools. Course of StudyJacksonville Christian Academy offers a College Preparatory Diploma. The curriculum is provided by A Beka Book and Bob Jones University Press. Academic PhilosophyThe academic goal of JCA is to give a Bible-based foundational education for all students. Curriculum is college-prep, and core classes needed for graduation will be offered. JCA will not be responsible to search out or organize a search for college scholarships or scholastic programs. We will offer what assistance we can through recommendations and transcript information. |
